Matt Bacak’s Conference Was THE Best… Ever
I really love going to conferences. Not only are they a great way to meet people face to face and to build relationships, but you learn a lot or at least get some great ideas while you’re there. I scripted a video that I’m going to use as a sales letter while I was there, and I’m thinking it should do pretty well. (Hoping, anyway.)
And I’ve been to different types of conferences: JVAlert (which I love because it’s like a family), StomperNet, Bill Harris and Brad Antin’s “How to Think Like a Marketer,” and Michael Penland’s Super Conference. All of them were great for different reasons.
But…
I have never been to a “Legends of Internet Marketing” type conference. I mean, usually there are a few big names but we’re talking every single presenter! And the other folks there were the rest of the IM world. It was a real concentration of Internet marketing POWER!
On Saturday morning Marshall Sylver presented, and I have to say I’ve never seen him in person. Wow! It was a real treat. For me, it wasn’t what he taught, it was how he presented. Smooth, baby. He rocked the house! And when it came time for people to go to the back of the room, at least a quarter of the people in the audience did just that. He was that good. I thought that Robert Allen was smooth, and he is, but Marshall is like ice on glass.
Then Shawn Casey got up with Jim Fleck and they talked about PURL landing page systems, CPa networks, continuity and a bunch of interesting stuff that was fascinating. Shawn’s just awesome, that’s all there is to it. Awesome.
But Ted Nicholas had us all dancing in the aisles to the Bee Gees. He’s great. He talked for like, three hours and it seemed like nothing. Smart, smart man who has sold billions of dollars of product and I can totally see why. He broke down a sales letter and gave us a whole workbook that we had to complete for his presentation. I know I’ll be pulling that out when I have to write another sales letter, and truth be told, he took some of the fear of drudgery out of it for me. Bless him. I hate writing copy.
Kevin Wilke came on next and got us all excited about local consulting for offline business. Sweet! I know people who are doing this and it’s a pretty great niche to be in right now because it’s wide open. Now’s the time!
So, that lasted until about 8 o’clock that night, and then… (come back tomorrow, if you want to read more. I want to tell you about an IM Star-Studded Night and much more. It’s just that I got sick. Yeah. Sucks. But it was worth it! You’ll understand why after I write to you tomorrow.) With that said, I’ll leave you with a cool Ted Nicholas video… take it to the bank, baby!

Hi Mark,
Me, too! I’m so sorry. You disappeared Sunday night and then, we all just kind of collapsed.
It was intense.
But… you have my email, right? You can email me anytime to clear up what you wanted to discuss. I’ll give you my number, too.
