BlogRush Cracks Down
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
A little over a month ago, John Reese opened his new blog traffic exchange system, BlogRush. To use the system, all you need to do is register, and put a widget into your sidebar that advertises other people’s blogs. Actually, just the most recent headline. Then, when people come to read your blog, they may find something of interest to click on in your BlogRush widget. Each time that happens, you get traffic, too. You can also build referrals and get a portion of traffic from each of them. It’s pretty cool, and if you look to your right, you’ll see my widget displayed proudly above the fold.
BlogRush had some issues with spam traffic in the beginning, and people were up in arms about it. In fact, I’ve seen some horrid comments about BlogRush, which I feel were rather unwarranted. They said that Reese would never be able to stop the spam. Well…
Apparently every blog listed in BlogRush has now been reviewed manually and those that were spamming the system and continued to spam the system will be unceremoniously removed from the system, too. They’re very interested in quality control there now.
I’m looking forward to the new dashboard. Looks pretty cool with lots of stats and interesting information. I have no idea what all is included, of course, because it hasn’t been unveiled, but soon… It keeps saying soon. I hope it is because I just love stuff like that. Then, I’ll be able to compare Google Analytics, MyBlogLog, and BlogRush to see how they compare. I don’t totally trust Analytics’ stats. MyBlogLog picks up opt-ins much better. But then…
Time will tell. I really respect John Reese. Getting a link on his blog was pretty cool, too. I gave it to Tellman. I know where my bread is buttered. ![]()
