For Women Only

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Sorry guys, I know that I work in that world and love every one of you in it, but I just have to say something here… FOR THE WOMEN.

If you’re like me, you may have spent 70-hour weeks in the corporate world doing the same job that men did but making far less money. Didn’t that just totally piss you off?

And when I learned I was pregnant after 20 years of hard climbing up the corporate ladder, I decided to chuck it ALL and raise my own child.

So, then what?  My brain hadn’t died.

I became a writer. I did that for 10 books, and then, I found this world–one where I can pretty much do what I need to do. I still work hard, and I even have a full-time job, but it’s all from the comfort of my home, working with people I totally love and respect.

Well…

I met a woman at jvAlert Live and just fell in love with her energy. She’s super marketing savvy and just fun to talk to and be around. And she’s a mom, just like me, only she has 4 young children to my one now grown daughter.

Her name is Carrie Wilkerson and she runs Barefoot-Executive.com . When you get to that page, Carrie will be there to welcome you.

I just watched her two movies: TheBossMovie.com and CruiseBarefoot.com

The first is powerful and evocative. It totally tells our story, women. Check that out.

Cruise Barefoot is about a contest Carrie is holding. Get in on that. Sounds like a total blast!

And yes, Carrie walked around most of jvAlert without her shoes on. She’s great, and I encourage you to check her out!

I think that http://www.barefoot-Executive.com is a wonderful business site for us women. We have been up the corporate ladder way too long and some of us haven’t gotten as far as we would have like to and others have gotten to the top only to feel the pressure from male collegues to try to fight and stay at the top. We women are now wanting to come back home and do work and have a business running right out of our homes or very close to home so that we can have time for the WHOLE FAMILY. There is no rushing here or rushing there to pick up; we plan our days so we have time to do everything we need to get done in time to pick up the kids go run errands and have dinner ready for husband, boyfried, fiance when they get home from a hard day at work. Back then that was our role and now we are ready to return to the role but we are adding the luxary to running your own business from your home. GO WOMEN!!!

    Uh-huh!

In another of my lives, I was a bank manager. Manging bank branches (6 at a time) was incredibly stressful and it required a 70-hour work week. When I learned I was pregnant with my daughter, some 19 years ago, I just quit my career. I started working from home soon after she was born.

The quality of life when you don’t have to serve a corporate master is so much better! I’d never work for anyone else in that milieu again. I mean, I work for Tellman now and love it, but it’s all from the comfort of my home. I’m sitting in front of the television right now, writing this. And we can all travel or do whatever we want and take work right along with us. I LOVE my life now and want to see more people able to succeed online. Saves gas! ;-)

Barefoot-Executive.com rocks! Glad to see your comment. Like Carrie, I love helping other women to succeed. And men, too, of course, but I’m hearing your voice, Katherine and I’m with ya!

    –Pat
