Hi Pat, I am a Gold Club member for the List Building club, and on tonight's call you mentioned a site to modify Wordpress themes, i did'nt catch it I think you said ArtistTier.com? or artistteer.com? i could not find it, please help.

Hi, Sure! It's Artisteer, and you can find it at http://artisteer.com. It rocks, and for the standard version, it's under $50.

Good morning Pat. Welcome to the new week! I have a question about domains, subdomains and SEO. Maybe it's not an SEO question at all? If my domain is www.xyz.com and I want to sell apples and wagons using this domain, can I successfully use a subdomain such as www.apples.xyz.com and www.wagon.xyz.com? Will the search engines find the subdomains? I don't want to have to buy 20 different domains. Do I have to pay for each subdomain too? Do I need to buy a separate domain for each sales function instead? There are many opinions, and a lack of understanding and general confusion about this. No one I've spoken to so far has a solid answer except the folks who straight up admit they're unsure. I'm a little confused...

Oh, Tom... You've come to the right place! Check this article out: http://ovblogger.com/2008/01/16/subdomains-vs-subdirectories/

It's the official Google stance on that.

But, I would also recommend that you get used to the idea of buying domains. Unless you have an online store and one of its products is apples and the other is oranges, a new domain is probably required. If you are in the IM niche, for example, and you have an ebook on writing articles and a membership site about blogging, the subdomain idea is a bad one because it means they're all part of the same entity. They shouldn't be! You want them to be distinct and recognizable, especially when it comes to search engine spiders.

Focus is very important for them. Keyword research, the writing with keywords in mind, and maintaining a consistent site is what they're looking for.

So, hate to say it, my friend, but if you don't have an e-commerce store, $10 a year really isn't that much, eh? :-)
