I really love going to conferences. Not only are they a great way to meet people face to face and to build relationships, but you learn a lot or at least get some great ideas while you’re there. I scripted a video that I’m going to use as a sales letter while I was there, and I’m thinking it should do pretty well. (Hoping, anyway.)
And I’ve been to different types of conferences: JVAlert (which I love because it’s like a family), StomperNet, Bill Harris and Brad Antin’s “How to Think Like a Marketer,” and Michael Penland’s Super Conference. All of them were great for different reasons.
But…
I have never been to a “Legends of Internet Marketing” type conference. I mean, usually there are a few big names but we’re talking every single presenter! And the other folks there were the rest of the IM world. It was a real concentration of Internet marketing POWER!
On Saturday morning Marshall Sylver presented, and I have to say I’ve never seen him in person. Wow! It was a real treat. For me, it wasn’t what he taught, it was how he presented. Smooth, baby. He rocked the house! And when it came time for people to go to the back of the room, at least a quarter of the people in the audience did just that. He was that good. So, even Tellman flew in for this, and I have to say that the caliber of speaker that this conference is presenting is top notch.
Mark Joyner, who I finally was able to meet in person, did the keynote. He has the right idea. Are we in a recession? Since the two preceeding quarters determines it, are we or aren’t we? WE DON”T KNOW! And if you don’t get your butts busy, no telling when this whole Internet ballgame’s rules will change. We just had a sample with all the new FTC stuff, eh? I think Mark’s right, but that’s no surprise. 
Then, Matt Bacak did a great talk on proper joint venturing. Unless you are these guys or work for them, you can’t possibly understand how many stupid proposals they get from perfect strangers every day. Clue: It’s all in the relationship you build with people and how much you can do for them, NOT the other way around. That comes later. Right on, Matt! You go, dude.
Anyone recognize the name Robert Allen? Well… If you don’t, you haven’t been in this business very long. I have to say that his close at the end of his talk was smooth as silk. Wow! Wow… If you’ve never been involved in a mega-Internet marketing launch, let me tell you, it’s exhausting! All of us at Overcome Everything have been putting in 150% for weeks, trying to make sure that everything is done on time when the big doors open.
And let me tell you, this is going to be incredible! Nobody will believe what Shawn & Tellman are about to give away. I don’t believe it myself, but the orders have already started coming in with only one one-hour teleseminar. People are amazed! And like 50% of them on that call signed up for the offer without thinking. Smart people.
I just finished preparing the contents of the offer. Getting it all created properly, setting up physical fulfillment, making sure that folks get this incredible product. Plus, we just set up a brand new ListBuilding Club. It’s much better organized. There’s a lot more opportunity for members to interact with us and each other, and it just rocks out loud! So, I’ve been busy getting all of the old stuff in there and making sure that everything works.

Our marketing and affiliate manager, Kyle Battis, has been gathering the affiliates and making sure that all the stuff that needs to be out there is done the right way.
Our copywriters, Josh Burns and Jodi Meehan, have been working ’round the clock to come up with some really rockin’ words to make it all sell.
And our tech team—Mike Purvis, Jim Morrison, and Victor Grosser–have been in there making sure that everything hooks up the right way and that no links to the myriad sales pages are broken.
The client support staff of Donna Farrar and Yolanda Martinez are ready to help anyone who needs it. And Lindsey Meehan is amazing at keeping all the money coming and going in the right directions.
And there’s Sarah Knudson. She’s our human resources specialist now, but well… Sarah just jumps in and helps wherever she’s needed. Danny Frank should get an award for being so cool in the face of Tellman. He just does whatever he needs to do, never complains and keeps Tellman’s day running smoothly. It just confounds me.
Lest I forget, there’s Jim Giller, our COO. He’s been buttoning stuff down and keeping us all on track, and Tellman? He’s been running. And running. And running. And our meetings are all conducted while we hear the slap, slap of the marathoner’s feet. He’s just a-frickin’ amazing. And Shawn Casey, too. He’s been organizing the whens and wherefores and we’re just all cranking like a well-oiled machine. Granted, a very tired well-oiled machine, but it’s really exciting!
So, you see… When a big launch like this begins, there are scads of folks involved, making it all work. It’s not a one-person or even a two-person show. It’s a team effort. Wow… Where do the days go? It seems like I’ve been back to work for a month, and it’s only been five days.
Not that I don’t love every minute of what I do because it is tons of fun, but the weekends are even more fun because I get to do and investigate stuff of my own.
This weekend, I have to prepare for a call I’m doing for Erik Stafford. That will be fun. We really had a blast on the call he did for me this week. So, I’m looking forward to that. We also had a product launch at Overcome Everything this week, and unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you know it’s Whack the Recession. I remember what struggling was like. I thought I’d NEVER make a dime because I just kept trying and trying and nothing was happening. Then, I met Tellman and my life is very, very different from what it was like two years ago.
I remember last year at this time, too. I was doing some consulting for Overcome Everything and ran into a cool guy named Don Griffiths. I’m doing a deal with him next week, so keep your eyes peeled for that. He’s a smart guy and he’s made tons and tons of progress since last year. Why? What I can tell you is that I understand how the recession is affecting all of us. It sucks!
I can’t tell you how I feel when I hear them say, “Gas is only $3.73 a gallon!” And… what’s your point, right? Higher gas, higher food, and we’ve been watching it come at us, while the current administration kept saying that there was nothing wrong.
Yeah, right. Any idiot could see that things were declining. Hmm… Maybe that explains a lot, eh?
But I live in Florida. I can’t sell my house because it’s not worth the mortgage anymore. It’s lost 2/3 of its value. Luckily, I like where I am and can ride it out, but how many can’t?
How many of you are facing foreclosure because gas is eating your mortgage payment, but you can’t drive less because you need to get to a job that still doesn’t pay the bills?
Sucks.
I’m no different.
I’m trying to make a living online, and have been luckier than most.
And trust me, if I can conquer Internet Marketing, so can you. Want to know how?

Pat has been so quiet for the last couple of weeks because like everyone at Overcome Everything, I’m working my butt off. We’ve been doing Squeezathons, making reports, newsletters, videos, CDs and tons and tons of stuff for the launch of Listbuilding.com tomorrow.
I can’t believe the day has almost arrived!
I remember Tellman talking about it in early February and thinking, well… we have LOTS of time.
But time goes quickly. I’m excited about the whole thing, not because the company stands to make a bunch of money (and that’s always a good thing), but because I know how many people’s lives have been touched by the whole thing. I mean now, more than 300 people have squeeze pages up and running that never did before. That’s a BIG squeeze, eh?
I feel pretty good to know that I had some part in that, but we’ve all been working hard. We’re an incredible team of hard-working people and it’s actually ready to happen! Everyone involved is running like monkeys to get things in order before the big day.
And have you seen the list of teachers for the coaching classes? Holy cow! It’s a who’s who of marketing. All my heroes in one course. wow.
Shawn & Tellman totally went all out on that one. There will be stuff in the course that just can’t be had anywhere else. You need to be on the calls. You need to soak up every bit of this that you can, especially if you’re new to Internet marketing. If you haven’t yet…
